I was unable to post last week due to illness. I got hit with both a viral, and a bacterial infection on the heels of COVID, which together has had me laid up for the moth of January thus far.
Today I am writing about hope - about the overwhelming importance of finding things to bring about feelings of hope into our lives. I knew that moving into 2024 was going to bring about even more challenges to each of us finding, and then maintaining this hopefulness in our lives.
I say this not to bring about despair, but rather today that there is still so much to hold onto.
As 2023 began to wind down I finally began my “house gatherings” - a series of small group gatherings in people’s homes. Where we discussed ways of finding hopefulness in our own lives, but also how to take that and spread it to others.
I facilitated each gathering by showing examples of people who I ave encountered, throughout he In Search of America Project, people who lived their lives in hope-filled ways and naturally spread that to others.
More and more I am seeing organizations spring up that are also trying to nurture and spread hope. This, I believe, is part of the massive shifts toward crumbling he current paradigms of hatred, and anger, and even disillusionment that seems to have permeated our lives for so very long.
While recuperating, over the past few days, I returned to the work of writing my book - based on the stories and experiences from the In Search of America Project. Reliving these experiences of the many people I encountered who were living empowered with hope - and sharing that in he most natural ways - simply by just being themselves. And I realized again that this is one of the key aspects of sharing powerfully - to simply be. This goes back to the infamous quote by Mahatma Gandhi: “be the change you want to see in the world”.
If each of us embraces the core values of the changes that we want to see in the world, and live from those values, we not only improve our own quality of life, but we effortlessly share that with others - spreading the light naturally - just as the rising sun, each morning effortlessly replaces he darkness from the night before.
I have stated many times, over the past two years as I have lectured on the In Search of America Project, and of the new era being ushered in. All of the signs have been there, and have been escalating for us to see. This, to me, is incredibly hopeful - to know that change is not only possible, but it is all but inevitable.
The key to it, however, will be based on what we do now. If we continue living in anger we will only perpetuate more anger. This is quantum law. It is also part of the laws that have been written over millennia in the various spiritual texts - including both old and new testaments.
We must move away from the dramas, and from complaining about what we dislike - even hate; and move our thoughts to what we want to see, and be.
Let each of us be the light that we desire. Let each of us spread this light like the morning sun. Let each of us gather in unity to create a synergy that is unstoppable. Let us “be the change that we want to see in the world”
